$600,000 dollars of the 1 million dollars allocated to the Loxton-Waikerie council under the federal government’s drought communities program has now been allocated.

The big winners in the initial allocation from council were the councils chambers of commerce, with the both the Riverland west chamber of commerce and Loxton chamber of commerce both receiving 50,000.

As well as this, tourism will see a boost with $75,000 allocated to tourism facilities and signage.

Other benefactors of the allocation included smaller communities in the council area with $100, 000 to be distributed through smaller communities support funding.
