Tim Whetstone, Member for Chaffey has welcomed legislation aimed at removing labour hire laws introduced by the former government.
Some business that could benefit from a reversal of the labour hire laws include business that share staff among different outlets.
Other people to benefit include employees who provide short term work arrangements such as a farmer helping another farmer as they could see a reduction in Red Tape.
Mr Whetstone said “Seasonal workers are a vital resource for a number of businesses in the Riverland given the prevalence of horticultural and agricultural industries and the region is heavily reliant on seasonal and transient workers,”
Mr Whetstone also said “The legislation will offer more flexible arrangements to support and encourage labour hire while offering workers a safe and well-paid working environment.”
