Riverland based state politician Nicola Centofanti has questioned Federal Labor’s apparent back down on Murray Darling Basin Plan deadlines.
Prior to both the Federal & State elections Labor made a pledge to deliver the full 450G/L of water savings required under the basin play by June of 2024.
Just recently, there's growing suggestion the deadline could be delayed. Something Shadow Minister for Water Resources and River Murray Nicola Centofanti said shows is clear that Labor are more interested in playing politics with the River Murray than delivering real outcomes.
Riverland based Centofanti called for the State Water Minister Susan Close to stand up for SA, and make sure the 450GL of environmental water is delivered via water efficiency projects not buy backs.”
