Some Riverland students will be at home a little longer when the school holidays finish, as online learning returns for some year levels.

Announced yesterday students in Pre-School, Reception, years one, seven, eight and twelve will head to the classroom on February 2nd with the rest to start the school year online.

When making the announcement yesterday Premier Steven Marshall said the hybrid model would significantly reduce COVID infections during February.

The 'hybrid model' comes at time seeing Riverland year seven students heading to high schools for the first time, as well two new schools opening locally including Saint Francis of Assisi in Renmark, and the newly named Berri Regional Secondary College.

All year levels are expected to be in the classroom on the 14th of February.
