This week is National Skin Cancer Action Week and Riverland and Mallee locals are reminded to ensure they're properly protected in the sun.
The call follows worrying new data showing 28% of Australian’s aren't making sun protection part of their daily routine over summer.
While conditions recently in the Riverland have been somewhat mild, the daily UV index for the Riverland is more often than not Very High or Extreme.
Tanya Buchanan, The CEO of the Cancer Council said it's vitally important locals follow all of the key sun protection measures.
The Cancer Council say the sun protection should be implemented when the UV Index is 3 or above.
