As SA Health struggles to fill some Doctor shortages across the state, figures have revealed staggering amounts being offered to lure doctors to fill locum roles.

As reported in The Advertiser GP’s are being offered up to $2600 a shift to work in some country hospitals, with the Riverland General Hospital offering $1600 per day for some dates in November.

Recently negotiations broke down between the Rural Doctors Association of SA and the Australian Medical Association due to ongoing matters, including billing when GP’s are called to country hospital to treat patients who are not admitted.
