In what will make the trip from the Riverland to Adelaide quicker and safer a concept design for the Truro Sturt highway bypass has been released.
The indicative alignment, developed as part of the early design phase of the project, diverts the Sturt Highway to just north of the Truro township and across Accommodation Hill.
Community engagement for the project is due to begin this month on the over $200 million dollar project,
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Barnaby Joyce said the project will play a key role in improving freight productivity along the Sturt Highway, while also creating 365 full-time equivalent jobs per year over the construction period.
Local Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin(pictured) said as part of the project, $1 million has been allocated to unlock opportunities to enhance the amenity of the Truro township.
Mr Pasin added “We understand the importance of supporting regional communities like Truro to thrive and this $1 million is aimed at creating opportunities to support the Truro community,
