The RAA has outlined the worst regions for road fatalities, in an effort to reduce road trauma.
Unfortunately the local Murray Mallee area came in at number two on the list of SA regions with 110 lives lost between 2010 and 2019.
The local region was only behind the Yorke Peninsula/Mid North region as the worst for fatalities in the same period.
RAA Senior Manager Safety and Infrastructure Charles Mountain said higher speeds on rural roads compared with the majority of metropolitan roads, coupled with the often long distances travelled in these regions and driver fatigue, contribute to their high number of fatalities.
The RAA highlighted the Data to co-inside with National Road Safety Week.
