'Lit' and run in Lyrup over the weekend

Police are seeking witnesses to a deliberately lit grass fire at Lyrup over the weekend.

At 1am last Saturday, a member of the public reported a fire burning on the Lyrup flats near the Lyrup main road. Several fire crews from Lyrup, Monash, Glossop and Berri attended and contained the fire which burnt approximately 400 sqm of grass.

An older model sedan, which police allege may have been a Holden, with a noisy exhaust was seen leaving the area at the time.
