Loxton Resident Gets Swindled

Riverland police are warning the community to be on scam alert, following a Loxton man recently falling victim to a computer repair scam caller.

On Wednesday, 7th June, the man received an anonymous telephone call stating that his computer had been fixed and payment was required. No repairs had been made to the victim's computer and when he refused to pay, the caller began threatening the man and demanded payment.

The victim subsequently gave the caller his bank details and $245 was debited out of his account.

Police urge all locals to be wary and to never give out their bank details to callers.
