A man accused of repeatedly stabbing a woman and forcing her into a car in northern Queensland, has been charged by police.

It's alleged the 25-year-old stabbed the woman four times in the abdomen and forced her into the vehicle in Normanton on Friday.

She escaped from the car and fled the scene, according to police, who charged the man on Saturday.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Monday.
