Variety Bash starting in Renmark

A large crowd is expected to gather in Renmark tomorrow for the start of the 36th SA Variety Bash.

Over 70 car crews will embark on an over 3000km trip through the outback to the Gold Coast, aiming to raise $1.5 million for children in need.

Variety SA CEO, Mark McGill said that one of the highlights as they travel through the regional towns of Australia and outback stations will be meeting the kids and families of the bush”

Mr McGill added “The Bash remains our flagship fundraiser, which helps us meet the ever-expanding demand of our grants for SA kids in need, their families, other children’s charities, schools, hospitals and community groups. The past year alone, Variety SA has positively impacted the lives of over 88,000 children in South Australia through 244 grants totalling $6.23 million.

The first car is set to depart from the Hotel Renmark on Murray Avenue at 9AM Saturday.
