Misuse & vandalism of Mid Murray Council water infrastructure is now seeing a review carried out.
The Council currently provides access to 14 standpipes for users to access non‐potable water for residential and livestock use – with users paying a usage fee.
Council say they can’t afford to cover the cost, saying they have spent over $100,000 in recent years for upgrades to reduce vandalism.
Mid Murray Council Mayor Simone Bailey said “The aim is to create a fairer system where the user and amount of water used are accurately identified, and the costs are fairly recovered”.
Community feedback is now welcomed via a survey that can be found on the Councils website.
