New bridge getting closer

Concept images and further details of the soon to be built Renmark 21st bridge have been released by council.

The bridge has been closed since the 2022/23 River Murray summer flood event causing significant delays and frustrations for many locals.

The new look structure is set to be built to a higher level and standard than the previous bridge, and follows a significant planning and approval process.

Renmark Paringa Mayor Peter Hunter said “The release of these detailed renders is really crucial in being able to showcase this new piece of infrastructure by providing a visual presentation as to what we are working towards,”

Mayor Hunter added further “Council wanted to make sure that all of our flood recovery projects will be better equipped to withstand future flooding events.

Construction is expected to commence in August.
