The office of local Federal MP, Tony Pasin was forced to evacuate yesterday following the discovery of a suspicious substance.
Staff from the office opened the letter addressed to Mr Pasin just after 11.15am Wednesday, with the letter said to contain a powdered brown substance.
MFS crews equipped with Hazmat equipment were quick to attend with the incident also seeing the Australian Federal Police notified.
No one was injured, with the substance now being tested.
Late yesterday Mr Pasin issued a statement thanking the first responders who acted quickly with diligence and professionalism.
The MP has held the local seat since 2013.
