Fruit Fly hotspots in the Barmera area remain a concern for officials, as work continues to eradicate the pest.
PIRSA’s latest update revealed a new detection known as the ‘Barmera B’ outbreak together with an extension of the previous Barmera zone.
While progress is being made, PIRSA’s Fruit Fly Response Incident Controller Con Poulos, urged Riverland residents to ramp up their hygiene activities at home when it comes to homegrown fruit.

The most recent detection follows the discovery of 6 male flies in a monitoring trap.
