Unlocking more regional childcare places could be key to help more local doctors in the workforce.
The Rural Doctors Association (RDAA) have proposed child care facilities could be built on the grounds of smaller rural hospitals, similar to major city hospitals.
Under this plan State Governments would offer the land, while the Commonwealth would provide the funds for construction.

The RDAA say simply many doctors in rural communities can’t return to work due to not having access to childcare.
It’s just one proposal outlined by the group ahead of the Federal Budget due to be delivered later this year.
