Quick action from local fire firefighters saw a grass fire in Chaffey contained and not spread to nearby structures yesterday.
MFS & CFS firefighters attended the fire on Ibis Road just prior to 4pm yesterday, which at the time saw a watch and act message issued.
Fire crews took around 40 minutes to control the fire, which covered just under a hectare.

Meanwhile the CFS has now set the fire danger season dates for the Riverland.
This will run from the 1st of November, through to the 15th of April.
