An unsupervised burn-off is thought to be behind Saturday night’s grass fire in Winkie.
Fire crews were called to the blaze just after 9pm Saturday, following reports of large tress on Fire on the Winkie Road.
CFS and MFS fire crews worked hard to protect assets nearby for near on five hours, with fortunately no structure lost.

Fire danger season dates for the Riverland were set last week to run from the 1st of November, through to the 15th of April 2024.
